About the Association

Our Mission

The Association for Legal Institutions and AI Studies is a scholarly association dedicated to advancing rigorous research on the relationship between artificial intelligence and legal institutions. The Association brings together scholars from law, computer science, economics, political science, sociology, philosophy, public policy, and related fields to study how AI is changing legal systems, legal practice, legal institutions, legal education and scholarship.

The Association’s central aim is to build and sustain a truly interdisciplinary research community. It will provide venues for scholarly exchange, support methodological innovation, promote high-quality research, and help develop shared standards, datasets, and tools for the study of AI and legal institutions.
